This passion project is the culmination of a 23 year odyssey and my  exploration into the art, practice and teaching of Yoga. Introduced to the practice by Shiva Rea in the World Arts and Cultures Department of UCLA in 1995, my journey has been blessed by many incredible teachers; Shiva, Maty Ezraty, Richard Freeman, Dharma Mitra and Joan White. This teacher training is my unique expression of the great lessons of my wonderful teachers, the timeless wisdom of Yoga and its many life-awakening gifts.

The result of immersive study with master teachers from diverse backgrounds is a multi-disciplinary approach to the practice, study, and application of Yoga. The primary focus is to remain an inspired student, allowing your teaching to evolve as an authentic expression of your practice. The Liquid Flow Yoga teaching community is dedicated to soaking up the great wisdom of our living teachers as well the history and lineage of our teacher’s teachers… passing it on to the next generation by bringing Yogic knowledge vibrantly to life.

This training will also have a strong emphasis on understanding Yoga as a healing practice. We will explore relationships within the body in asana practice, as well as healthy patterns of movement and being. We will dive into the exploration of physical and energetic alignment, sequencing, hands on assisting, physical and facial anatomy, history, philosophy, mindfulness meditation, pranayama, and restorative yoga. I will be joined by a community of incredibly gifted and experienced teachers and assistants in their particular fields such as Susan Michel, our anatomy teacher who is a gifted Rolfer and Yoga therapist. We are a passionate collective, working toward the common goal of sharing our love of living Yoga. This training will give you the essential tools for teaching yoga to others, and it will also appeal to experienced teachers and practitioners from all traditions interested in depending their practice... Be prepared for an extraordinary experience of Yoga Union.

Liquid Flow - Lead Teacher Trainer

Simon began his Yoga journey in 1995 with Shiva Rea in the World Arts and Cultures Department at UCLA. Soon thereafter, he became immersed in the great atmosphere of the original YogaWorks studios in Santa Monica where he completed his first teacher training with Maty Ezraty in 1998. A move home to Philadelphia led to an opportunity to study with senior Iyengar Teacher, Joan White, and the legendary yogi Dharma Mittra. After apprenticing with Shiva Rea as an assistant, Simon began leading his own workshops, teacher trainings, and retreats - eventually worldwide. In 2007, Yoga Journal acclaimed Simon as, "one of the most influential and gifted Yoga teachers of the next generation.” His free-style Vinyasa is fluid, intuitive, and encourages freedom through self expression. Simon is profoundly influenced by the teachings of Shiva Rea, Richard Freeman, Maty Ezraty, Joan White, and Dharma Mitra - his core teachers for the past 20+ years. Simon's blend of these influences finds a beautiful alchemy in his style, Liquid Flow Yoga, a mix of classical and modern Yoga. Recently, Simon returned to his educational roots by creating a Yoga Program for Princeton University. Dubbed the "Flying Nomad," he draws inspiration from road legends such as Jimi Hendrix who aptly stated, "the Earth is my home.”

Joan Hyman’s grounded teaching style seamlessly supports her students as they emerge from their practice with the rich and bright energy that yoga has to offer. Joan’s teachings come from an organic and intuitive place, as she draws upon the combined studies of Ashtanga and Iyengar yoga as well as Ayurveda and meditation. An authentic modern-day yogi, Joan's love and devotion show up in her practice and throughout her teaching, you will leave her class feeling transformed and deeply aligned.

Joan spent fifteen years as a distinguished YogaWorks Senior Teacher before bringing her expertise to Wanderlust as the Director of Teacher Trainings in 2016. Now, with over twenty years’ experience leading retreats, trainings, and international workshops, Joan continues to travel the globe leading her own signature trainings. In addition, Joan partners with yoga schools in various corners of the world on their teacher training programs. As a leader in the Los Angeles yoga community, Joan also contributes to popular blogs such as The Daily Love, Elephant Journal, and Wanderlust. She has been featured in Yoga Journal, ORIGIN Magazine and Women’s Health for her advice and expertise on health and wellness. Joan’s openhearted approach to teaching yoga keeps both her inner spirit and her students continuously evolving.

Susan is based near Munich, close to the Bavarian Alps where she runs a small local space for yoga classes, trainings and Rolfing. Her teaching combines her love of yoga and connection to nature with an in-depth understanding of the human body. She draws inspiration from having trained extensively in Vinyasa Flow (S. Park), Ashtanga Yoga (R. Freemann) and Rolfing/ Structural Integration.

Her current yoga practice consists of balancing a busy family life, teaching, giving Rolfing sessions, studying for a degree in alternative medicine and finding time for her personal practice. Since she never seems to get around to starting a website, please feel free to send an e-mail if you have any questions about the training (

Your Experience

SIXT-FER-A-CHEVAL - Classified among the most beautiful villages in France it is as much the setting and the close proximity of several exceptional scenic highlights. The region and village largely falls within the protected natural area called the Natural Reserve of Sixt-Passy (the largest natural reserve in the Haute-Savoie department) and contains an extraordinary range of flora and fauna, as well as scenic spectacles. The Cirque du Fer à Cheval: a remarkable site with 500 - 700 metres tall cliffs stretching as a great wall in front of you with waterfalls cascading across the rock, and even higher mountain peaks reaching an altitude of 3000 metres behind the cirque.

We rent various beautiful alpine Chalets in Sixt-Fer-à-Cheval for you to choose from. We feel that the inspiring nature, the traditional chalets and the charming villages of Sixt and Samoens are an important part of the Yoga, community and cultural experience.
